Let’s give some good

Every December at Central Vineyard, we pause and ask a simple question: What does it look like for us to bless our city this Christmas?

Over the years we’ve done this in different experimental ways. This year, we’re returning back to how it all started again — we’re giving Good Gifts to those around you this Christmas.

WHAT IS Good Gifts?

All over our city this year, things have been hard for people. The cost of living has gone up and people have been doing it tough. And sometimes the most life-giving thing you can give someone is the reminder that they’re seen.

A Good Gift is our take on a thoughtfully curated Christmas hamper — something beautiful full of some treats to eat, and given by you as something kind, to pass on to the recipient: “you matter.”

Blessing doesn’t need to be grand to be powerful — it can be as simple a nice box of goodies with a thoughtful note on it. Because at Christmas we celebrate the God who gives Himself — and teaches us to give goodness in His name.

So, who might you be able to GIVE a Good Gift to?

If you were to prayerfully ask, who might come to mind for you who needs to be given something good?

A neighbour you’ve been starting to have good convos with.
A colleague carrying more than they let on.
A school-gate dad you’ve been chatting to each week.
A friend who has been doing it tougth and needs encouragement.
Anyone the Spirit brings to mind...

Well, who ever you notice, Good Gifts simply gives you something to place in your hands when you go.

How it works

It’s beautifully simple:

Pray.
Ask God to bring someone to mind.

Purchase.
Each hamper is $50, and you can buy as many as you need.

We assemble.
In the lead-up to Christmas, our team will put together the Good Gifts with care and creativity.

Collect.
On Sunday 21 December, at our final gathering of the year, your Good Gifts will be ready to pick up and take straight to your recipient.

So, let’s give some good

Imagine our church family scattering across Tāmaki Makaurau with these small parcels of grace —that’s the heart behind Good Gifts.

If you'd like to join in, you can read all the details and purchase your Good Gift hamper here.

Let’s be a people who give a little goodness away this Christmas.
